Dr. Min-Hsiu Hsieh, Director of Hon Hai Quantum Computing Research Center, has been invited to serve on the Technical Program Committee (TPC) for the 2026 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT 2026). This appointment not only acknowledges Dr. Hsieh's profound academic expertise in quantum information theory and related fields but also highlights Hon Hai Research Institute's international academic influence in cutting-edge technologies, particularly in quantum computing research.
ISIT is the premier international academic conference in the field of information theory, annually gathering leading scholars, researchers, and industry experts from around the globe to discuss the latest research findings and development trends in information theory and its related applications. The Technical Program Committee is the core organizing body of ISIT, responsible for reviewing submitted papers, planning the conference program, and ensuring the academic quality and foresight of the event. ISIT 2026 will be held in Guangzhou, China, covering classic topics such as Shannon theory, coding theory and techniques, information security, signal detection and estimation, while also encouraging cross-disciplinary research at the intersection of information theory with bioinformatics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, DNA storage, and quantum information.
Dr. Hsieh stated, "I am deeply honored to be invited to serve on the TPC for ISIT 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to jointly advance academic development with the global information theory community, especially in quantum information theory. I look forward to working closely with other committee members to create a high-quality and inspiring academic exchange platform for ISIT 2026."
Dr. Hsieh has long been dedicated to cutting-edge research in information theory, including quantum error correction codes, quantum communication theory, quantum information theory, quantum machine learning, and quantum algorithms, achieving fruitful results. He previously served as an Associate Professor at the Centre for Quantum Software and Information at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, and was selected as an Associate Editor for Quantum Information Theory for the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory from 2015 to 2018. His selection for the ISIT 2026 TPC is undoubtedly a high recognition of his past academic contributions, particularly his expertise in bringing quantum computing knowledge to this important committee.
Hon Hai Research Institute stated, "Dr. Min-Hsiu Hsieh's appointment to the ISIT 2026 TPC is a source of great pride for all our colleagues. This not only demonstrates Dr. Hsieh's outstanding academic leadership but also further enhances Hon Hai Research Institute's reputation in the international academic community, especially in the strategic field of quantum computing. We believe that Dr. Hsieh will contribute his valuable expertise and experience to the successful organization of ISIT 2026, and promote the integration and development of global information theory and quantum technology."
About the IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT):
