Education
He received his B.S. degree from National Taiwan University in 1995, his M.S. degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1998, and his Ph.D. from the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University in 2010. Prior to joining Hon Hai, he was a tenured faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Central University. Dr. Li has actively contributed to the global academic community, serving as an industry chair, publicity chair, and technical program committee member for numerous prestigious international conferences.
Awards
Dr. Li has spearheaded groundbreaking projects with significant industry impact. He led his team to develop FoxBrain, the first Large Language Model (LLM) in the Traditional Chinese domain engineered for advanced reasoning capabilities. FoxBrain is also a foundational model uniquely infused with deep manufacturing know-how, establishing it as a fundamental pillar for Hon Hai's three major intelligent platforms: Smart Manufacturing, Smart Electric Vehicles, and Smart Cities. His contributions to the field of autonomous driving are particularly outstanding. His team has consistently achieved top-tier rankings in major global autonomous driving challenges, including:
Champion, Argoverse 1 & 2 Motion Forecasting Competition (CVPR 2023 & 2024)
Champion, Waymo Sim Agents Challenge (CVPR 2024)
Runner-up, Waymo Motion Prediction Challenge (CVPR 2024)
Champion, Waymo Interaction Prediction Challenge (CVPR 2025)
Furthermore, Dr. Li is a multiple gold and silver medalist at world-renowned invention exhibitions, including the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, INPEX in Pittsburgh, and the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival.
