【講題】Paths Toward a Greener Future: Decarbonization with Innovative Silicon and WBG Solutions
【摘要】 When the world is moving towards the goal of decarbonization, the societal trends of the increasing population, urbanization, and digitalization are creating more energy demand and CO2 emissions. Energy efficiency becomes an essential means of achieving the climate goal. Power design engineers are working at every step of the energy chain – from generation and storage to transmission and consumption – to explore new energy-saving potentials. As Si is reaching its physical limits, WBG becomes the ideal choice when looking for the next generation of efficient power converter switches. WBG can be applied to the circuit architectures where Si was not feasible and can achieve higher conversion efficiency and reliability via simpler topology, for example, the Totem Pole PFC, thereby reducing the system size and cost. WBG will be a game changer for solar inverters, EVs, the charging infrastructure and the power supply to data center. By sharing customer cases, you will also learn how Infineon has worked with key customers to create successful SiC and GaN-based energy efficiency solutions and Infineon’s strategy for wide band-gap and a decarbonized future.
